Summer Island is a small enclave of approximately 50 homes in a gated community off A1A just south of Matanzas Inlet. As the photos show it is a neat neighborhood of Key West style homes. Homes on the west side have waterfront lots on the Intracoastal while the homes on the east side lookout over A1A to the Ocean. There is a barrier beach just to the east of A1A that has the Old A1A roadway on it. It is a 12 minute drive to St Augustine beach and perhaps 18 minutes to downtown St Augustine.
